October 2007 - Changing Rooms
Members of the Property Services maintenance team gave up their spare time to volunteer for a "make over" project at Dowels Road Community Centre, Kidderminster.
After an appeal on radio station, BBC Hereford & Worcestershire for helpers and materials, the team pooled all of their skills and resources to help transform the run down centre into a cyber cafe and safe place for children to meet and relax.
Peter Banford, External Funding Manager at The Community Housing Group helped to co-ordinate the works and paid tribute to the team. "It was amazing how everyone just pulled together to make it happen" he said "At times, they were working in really difficult conditions and late into the night, but the end result makes it all worth while".

July 2007 - Nightmare Flooding for Bewdley residents
Residents of Bewdley, Worcestershire complimented the Property Services Team for their rapid response to the worst flooding in many years.
Over 100 homes were affected as water overflowed main drains flooded into properties. The team were on site as soon as the alarm was sounded and worked throughout the night to help residents rescue belongings and furniture.
Julie Morris, Chair of Bewdley Tenant Consultative Committee praised the teams for their prompt action “We were faced with the worst possible situation but the help we received made sure that the damage was not as bad as it could have been”
May 2007 - Lucie is "inspiration" for other apprentices
Lucie Nelson, 2nd year apprentice plumber was nominated for a top award at this years "Celebrating Women in Construction" ceremony. Although she was beaten to the top spot, Lucie was highly commended for her determination to succeed and her commitment to achieving her professional qualifications.
"Lucie is an inspiration to her fellow apprentices" said Ian Hancock, Director of Asset Management "and we are delighted that her talents have been recognised" Lucie, pictured front centre, celebrates the nomination with her colleagues and managers.
