3 operatives from CHG Property Services (part of The Community Housing Group) have begun a pilot of the Open Mobile handheld repairs module.
The pilot will enable Property Services to manage work and repairs on properties more efficiently. Staff will be able to access and retrieve data using a handheld computer whilst on the move.
Work can be scheduled and repair tickets can be issued electronically. Staff need not travel to and from the office to receive work and update records.
By using a scheme such as this across the workforce, data entry is minimised, accuracy is improved and overall productivity is enhanced. It will provide cost saving across numerous areas of the responsive repairs service.
If successful, the scheme will be deployed to the remaining responsive repairs staff during May 2011.
